About Laura-Lee

Laura-Lee Blackmore is a children’s author who believes in the magic of stories to inspire and uplift young hearts. A retired railroader with a teaching degree, she now resides in the picturesque landscapes of Alberta, Canada, alongside her supportive spouse and a lively household of pets.

From a young age, Laura-Lee found solace and adventure within the pages of books, often considering them her closest companions. This early love for reading sparked a lifelong dream: to create stories that offer children the same comfort and wonder she experienced.

Throughout her life, Laura-Lee has embraced roles that nurture and guide others. She has served as a mentor in the Employee Family Assistance Program and volunteered as a Big Sister, where she cherished the moments spent helping a child discover the joy of reading. Her commitment to understanding and supporting children’s growth led her to pursue additional studies in childhood education and psychology.

Now, as an author, Laura-Lee channels her experiences and passions into crafting heartfelt stories that aim to become cherished “book friends” for children everywhere.
